Tribute: Marjorie Pauline Henson

CORTLAND, Ohio – Marjorie Pauline Henson, 96, of Cortland, went home to be with the Lord, on August 26, 2016 at 3:40 a.m. at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland.

Marjorie was born on July 2, 1920 in Calhoun County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Knotts and Cleora (Hanger) Chenoweth.

Marjorie graduated from Calhoun County Middle-High School. She then attended West Virginia State College earning her Bachelor’s degree in teaching. She was an elementary school teacher for over 20 years.

In her free time, she enjoyed playing and teaching bridge; crafting and baking pies. Marjorie loved spending every Saturday night on the dance floor.

Her most precious memories were spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved and adored.

She leaves behind her daughter, Carolyn (Ronald) Urchek, of Cortland, a son Harold D. Henson, of St. Albans, West Virginia, two grandchildren; Shelley Urchek-Geist, and Matthew (Jessica) Urchek, and five great grandchildren; Kayl and Kylie Geist, and Claire, Cole and Case Urchek.

Besides her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Harold W. Henson, who died on October 11, 1986. Six brothers and sisters also preceded Marjorie in death.

Funeral services will be held, Tuesday August 30, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel, 164 N. High St. Cortland, with Pastor Paul Leone celebrating Marjorie’s life.

Family and friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Interment will take place back in Marjorie’s home town of Charleston, West Virginia.

Tribute: James Harmon, Sr.

BERLIN CENTER, Ohio – There will be Services at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Western Reserve United Methodist Church for James L. Harmon, Sr., 72 who went to be with the Lord on August 26.

Jim was born April 4, 1944 in Alliance, a son of Ralph S. and Mary Ann (Ondrejko) Harmon.

Jim was a Tool and Die maker at the GM Lordstown Assembly Plant for 36 years, retiring in 2006. Jim was currently a driver for Gold Cross Limousine Service.

He was a 1962 graduate of Western Reserve High School and served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the U.S. Air Force as a radio operator, having served a tour of duty in Vietnam.

Jim was a member of Western Reserve United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee and was a member of the Small Group. Jim was also a member of the UAW and the Elks Club of Ashtabula.

Jim loved Corvettes and was the proud owner of a 2002 Corvette. Jim was a farmer and all around handyman and enjoyed woodworking.

Jim is survived by his wife of 49 years, the former Phyllis J. Lanterman; his son, James L. (Jodi) Harmon, Jr. of Canfield; his daughter, Chrisie (Steve) Miller of Berlin Center; his brothers, Jerry (Janet) Harmon of Canfield, Tim (Janice) Harmon of Canfield, Douglas (Brenda) Harmon also of Canfield and Sam Harmon of Salem; his grandchildren, Sydney, Riley, Kennedy, Avery, Quincy, Carlie and Kaylie; several brothers and sisters-in-law from the Lanterman family and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Western Reserve United Methodist Church and 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, prior to the Service at the Church. Reverend Russ Adams and Reverend Russ Libb will officiate.

Burial will be at Berlin Center West Cemetery.

Material contributions may be given to the Western Reserve United Methodist Church Sanctuary Fund.

Tribute: Mary Jane Miller

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – There will be Services at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Lane Family Funeral Homes-Austintown Chapel for Mary Jane Miller, 89, who passed away Saturday at the home of her daughter, Jan.

Mary Jane was known to many as “Grammy”. Mary Jane was born June 18, 1927 in Youngstown to William T. and Mary (Roberts) Morgan.

She graduated from East High School in 1945.

Mary Jane married Larry O. Miller, February 20, 1953 and he preceded her in death November 3, 1999.

Mary Jane was a woman of faith and loved the important moments in life that included her family, friends and her special church family. Throughout the years she attended Immanuel Baptist, Wickcliffe Christian and currently was active in the First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Ridge.

She had a love for music and shared her talents on the organ, piano and with her beautiful voice at many church services and weddings. Mary Jane remained active throughout her life with bowling, golf and attending YSU football games. She especially enjoyed supporting her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s activities. She enjoyed any trip to Columbus, especially the Thanksgiving dinners with Gregg and his family and any time with Adam and his family.

Mary Jane worked for over 25 years in the Arts and Crafts building at the Canfield Fair. She was a wonderful baker and was especially known for her cookies, Texas sheet cake and her famous cheesebraid.

Mary Jane leaves behind those who love her the most with so many memories. She leaves a legacy of faith and love that will be forever carried on in her family’s hearts. Grammy will be deeply missed and forever loved by her daughter Jan Divelbiss, her sons, Gregg (Deena) Divelbiss and their daughters, Genevieve and Vivienne and Adam (Katie) Divelbiss and their children, Aiden, Mia and Marko. She also leaves her son, Jack (Peggy) Morgan and their children and grandchildren and a daughter Linda Ziegler of Spring Grove, Pennsylvania and her children and grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish her memory so many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, friends, neighbors and her special golf ladies and church family. Anyone who knows Mary Jane knows about her love for her precious Aiden.

The family would like to especially thank Dr. Robert Bisel and his staff for the wonderful compassionate care they have given their Mom over many years. They would also like to thank Hospice of the Valley and the many relatives and friends who called or visited Mary Jane these past weeks. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord will give me.”

Tribute: Larry McGinnis, Sr.

CORTLAND, Ohio – Larry Keith McGinnis, Sr., age 83 of Cortland, passed away Saturday afternoon, August 27, 2016, at Cleveland University Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born March 22, 1933 in Albright, West Virginia the son of the late Harry and Georgia Etta Feather McGinnis.

Keith was a 1951 graduate of Kingwood, West Virginia high school.

He moved to Trumbull county from West Virginia in 1951 and had been a Cortland resident since 1962.

He worked as a machinist at General Motors, Lordstown for 24 years retiring in 1995. Beginning in 1978, he and his wife, Dorothy, founded and were the proprietors of the Village Antique and Lamp Shop in Cortland for many years.

Keith was of the protestant faith. He and his wife loved traveling the country buying antiques. They traveled with their motorhome and also enjoyed traveling by motorcycle across the United States and Canada. He enjoyed hunting and spending time at their camp in Cook’s Forest, where he and the family snowmobiled and rode dirt bikes.

Keith is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Dorothy J. Haines McGinnis, whom he married January 15, 1953; two sons, Larry Keith (Teri) McGinnis Jr. of Cortland and John Harvey McGinnis of Washington D.C.; two grandchildren, Keith Robert McGinnis and Tricia Michelle McGinnis both of Phoenix; two step grandchildren; three great grandchildren, Gabriella, Darian and Hazel and one brother, Terry Allen McGinnis of Morgantown, West Virginia.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2016 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Pastor Joel Dickson will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Bazetta.

Tribute: John C. Lowry

CORTLAND, Ohio – John C. Lowry, 82, of Cortland, went home to be with the Lord, on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 2:05 a.m.

He was born October 28, 1933, in Somerset, Pennsylvania a son of the late John and Katherine (Shaffer) Lowry.

John graduated from Scottsdale High School in 1951.

John proudly served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Navy.

He later went on to receive his Bachelors in Education from Springfield College and his Master Degree in Educational Administration from West Minster College. John taught History and American Government for 16 years at Lakeview High School and 10 years at Windham High School. John was the head coach at Windham High School for 10 years. He was the Athletic Directory and an assistant football coach for Lakeview, and was inducted into Lakeview’s Sports Hall of Fame, in 2010. Football and mentoring youth was one of John’s greatest passions.

John was a proud member of the Cortland United Methodist Church.

In his free time he enjoyed reading, woodworking, and traveling. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. John’s most precious time was spent with his wife, children and grandchildren, whom he loved and adored.

He is survived by his children; Michael Lowry, of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Chris (Ann) Lowry, of Cortland and Patty (Neil) Corsatea of Cortland, three grandchildren; Elizabeth Lowry, Aislinn Lowry and Matthew Lowry.

Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, the love of his life and best friend, the late Corrinne Lowry. They were happily married for 55 years. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Corsatea, and siblings Mary Lou Dunlevy, and Audrey Lowry.

Family and friends may call, Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel, 164 N. High St., Cortland, OH.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Cortland United Methodist Church, 155 N. High St., Cortland, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church, with Pastor David Vensel celebrating John’s life.

John’s family would like to give a special thanks to Jessica, Hedi, and Laaren at Senior Independence Home Health Care and Hospice of Boardman, for all the love and compassion they gave John during his time of need.

Tribute: Mathew J. Campbell

STRUTHERS, Ohio – Matthew J. Campbell, age 34, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at this home due to complications of Muscular Dystrophy.

He was born on July 21, 1982 in Youngstown to Susan Lee Campbell.

Matthew attended the Purple Cat in Youngstown, was a DJ for Goldenstringradio.org and was a member of the Purple Cat Music Class Band. He loved Chuck Norris, country music, bowling, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was fond of wearing his black cowboy hat and black leather boots. He loved his cell phone. Matthew was genuinely a positive thinker and never met a person that he didn’t immediately call “friend” or a lady that he didn’t think was “beautiful”.

Matthew leaves behind his friends and housemates: Ernie White, Sid O’Malley, and Robert Morley of Struthers and his many friends at ISLE and the Purple Cat, many of which he called his “family”.

He was preceded in death by his mother Susan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, September, 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ our Savior Parish, St. Nicholas Church, 764 5th St., Struthers, Ohio 44471, where friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church.

Tribute: Lewis “Lou” Kenner

McDONALD, Ohio – Lewis “Lou” Kenner, 84, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016, at Washington Square Nursing Home in Warren, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Lou was born Nov. 9, 1931, in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, the son of Arthur and Revennia Kenner.

Lou proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

As a young man, Lou made the most important decision of his life by accepting Christ as his Savior and because of this, we can find comfort in knowing that he is heaven, waiting on his friends and family to join him.

Ensuring his children had this same opportunity was a very important part of his legacy and will be carried on for generations to come.

Lou attended the Open Door Community Church in McDonald in the later years of his life.

For many years, Lou operated as an independent aluminum siding and window contractor.

Known for his uncanny construction skills, he enjoyed helping friends and family with their projects and his yearly visits to Houston, knowing his children had a project waiting on him. These are some of the most precious memories they will cherish. Lou constructed his cabin in Cook Forest, Pennsylvania and enjoyed spending time there. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working and most importantly spending time with his family.

Lou was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Kenner, who passed away in 1988; and his sister Audrey Wilkins.

Lou is survived by his son, Arthur and wife Brenda of Montgomery, Texas; his son, Robert and wife Cena of Alvin, Texas; his daughter Barbara Iacobucci and husband Brian of Austintown, and daughter Wanetta Kenner of Alvin, Texas; grandchildren Nicholas Iacobucci, Christopher Anderson, Meagan Grieco and Erin Kenner; his brother, Sheridan Kenner of Girard and special friend Mrs. Dorothy Kish.

The family would like to thank Pastor Art Nicolli of Open Door Community Church, the staff at Washington Square Nursing Home, the Youngstown VA and Hospice of the Valley for their support and care of their father.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August, 30, at 1:00 p.m. at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Lewis will be laid to rest at Girard City Cemetery beside his wife.

NILES, Ohio – Elsie Sheppard, 98, formerly of Girard, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016, at Shepherd Of The Valley in Niles.

Elsie was born Oct. 13, 1917, in Clinton, Tennessee and moved to Girard, when she was six. She is the daughter of William and Mae (Harrel) Harkleroad. Elsie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Girard.

She is survived by two sons, Charles (Donna) Graham and Kenneth (Pat) Veisz; her daughter, Carol (Harry) Bovee; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Henry (Huck) Graham, Eugene (Jim) Veisz and Mark Sheppard; brothers Elmer and Homer Harkleroad; sisters Ruby Sparks and Mildred Gerke; stepson Eugene (Gene) Veisz; daughter-in-law Karen (Romish) Graham; and grandchildren, Taylor Veisz, Traci Graham, Sean Graham, Keiland Davey and Brian Davey.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 11:00 a.m., at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Elsie will be laid to rest at Pineview Cemetery.

Tribute: John Leonard “Jack” Watson

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – John Leonard “Jack” Watson, 83, of Youngstown, passed away peacefully at the Austin Woods Nursing Center in Austintown on August 30, 2016.

He was born to Jessie M. Smith and Stanley Watson on February 25, 1933 in Niles, Ohio.

Survivors include brother Gene R. (Violet) Allison of Warren, daughter Lora (Shane) Goodnight of Canton, son Mark (Carrie) Watson of Massillon, grandchildren Brady and Morgan Watson, former wife of 19 years Nancy Roehlig of Crossville, Tennessee and special friend Marjorie “Helen” Perkins. Thank you Marjorie for everything you did for him and everyone who spent time with him. He loved your company.

He is preceded in death by his mother Jessie M. Smith and his stepfather Frank J. Smith of Hermitage, Pennsylvania.

Jack attended Niles McKinley High School, where he graduated in 1951. He then obtained a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University, a master’s degree from Kent State University and a PHD in Economics from Indiana Northern College.

He served as the Mayor of Englewood, Ohio in the mid 1970’s.

He also was a long-time educator at institutions including Youngstown State University, Kent State University, Mercyhurst University, Mount Union College University, Penn State Shenango and Earlham College. He was also a buyer at Trane Company in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, NCR in Dayton and president of IEW in Youngstown.

He as an avid animal lover, especially of his dog Mischief. He was a fan of Cleveland sports teams and was thrilled to see the Cavaliers win a championship.

The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice for their care and support.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday September 22, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Ice House Inn 5516 W. Webb Rd., in Austintown.

CANFIELD, Ohio – There will be a memorial service 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 3 at Hospice House of Poland, 9803 Sharrott Rd., Poland for Geraldine N. Chrismas, 90 of Canfield who died Wednesday, August 24 at the Hospice House.

Geraldine was born June 5, 1926 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Sidney and Lillian Evans Newman and was a lifelong area resident.

She graduated from South High School in 1944 and had worked as a machine operator for Superior Industries for 25 years, retiring in 1988.

She attended Redeemer Lutheran Church and enjoyed traveling and gardening.

Geraldine leaves her husband, George Chrismas whom she married November 1, 2000; a step-son, Robert G. (Elaine) Chrismas of Genoa, Ohio; nephew, Gilbert (Jeanette) Newman of Vero Beach, Florida; great nephews, Col. Dean (Kecia) Newman, Brian (Jenny) Newman and great great niece and nephews, Kashmira, Abraham and Tyler.

Besides her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Sabo and a brother, Sidney Newman.

The family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, OH 44512.

SALEM, Ohio – There will be a Memorial Mass Friday, September 2 at Noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11607 W.H. – 40, Rudyard, Michigan for Mary H. Clover of Brookdale Senior Living, Salem, Ohio formerly of Canfield, Ohio who died Friday, August 26 at her residence.

Mary was born April 12, 1912 in Rudyard, Michigan, a daughter of the late Michael and Roseanna Vigneaux Knauf.

She had worked as an inspector for Park Davis for 30 years before retiring.

Mary attended St. Christine Catholic Church in Youngstown, Ohio and was a former member of St. James Catholic Church in Houghton Lake, Michigan where she served as eucharistic minister. She loved to play bingo and enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She was very active in outdoor activity and loved to dance.

Mary was preceded in death by her husbands, Alec Jacobson and Hubert “Gene” Clover, three sisters, Estella Waite, Pauline Marchand, Louise Tremblay and two brothers, Joseph Knauf and Henry Knauf.

She leaves numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the mass at the church.

The family requests material tributes take the form of donations to the donor’s favorite charity.

He is preceded in death by his father and 2 brothers; Lorenzo Jr., and Louis A. Ingram.

PHOENIX, Arizona (Youngstown, Ohio) – Jean DiLoreto, born in Youngstown in 1917, passed away peacefully in Phoenix, Arizona, surrounded by her loving family on August 27, 2016.

Jean cherished her family more than anything and was the ultimate babysitter for many generations. She was a devoted Catholic, and an avid opera and sports fan.

She is survived by the DiLoreto, Cera, Durkin, Hagan and Cavanaugh families and extended family that loved her dearly.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 2, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Christine Church in Youngstown.

Family and friends may call from 10:15 a.m. until time of the Mass on Friday at the church.

NILES, Ohio – Rosemarie Martin, 75, passed away unexpectedly at 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Trumbull Memorial Hospital emergency room.

Rosemarie was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on September 30, 1940 the daughter of Walter James and Mary Margaret (Norton) Hawk.

She worked for many years as an armature winder at Peerless Winsmith Inc., Warren and retired in 2002.

She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, coloring, watching game shows on television and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. She loved and cherished the quality time spent with her grandchildren whom she adored.

Rosemarie is survived by two sons, Gary Martin of Niles, James Dean (Mary Ann) Martin of Warren; seven grandchildren, Bobby Martin, Matt (Krystal) Martin, Zack Martin, Kristi Sanford, Amanda Martin, Ashley Martin, and Kayla Martin; six great grandchildren Jayden Williams, Serenity Martin, Aa’mari Martin, Mikey Infante, Peyton Martin, and Colton Martin; three brothers, Thomas (Bernice) Hawk of Martins Ferry, Jim Hawk of St. Clairsville, Robert (Charlotte) Hawk of Emerald Isle, North Carolina; sister, Carol (Doug) Shoaff of Wheeling, West Virginia; brother in law, Roger Elder of Wheeling, West Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James R. Martin whom she married April 30, 1959 and he died in 1979; son, Kenneth E. Martin who died May 6, 2012; sister, Susan Elder and a great-grandchild Del’shon Porterfield.

A Memorial Service will be Monday, September 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where family and friends may call one hour prior to the services. Rev. Doug Shoaff will officiate.

Tribute: Kenneth L. “Sam” Matheny

LAKE MILTON, Ohio – Kenneth L. “Sam” Matheny, age 73, of Lake Milton passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 following a short illness.

Born December 28, 1942 in Grantown, West Virginia, he was the son of Samuel H. and Ethel P. (Hayes) Matheny.

Sam was a U.S. Army veteran; he was a member of the Eldora Methodist Church, Argus Lodge #545, Valley of Canton Shrine and the American Legion Post # 737 in Lake Milton.

He retired from General Motors in Lordstown, then after retirement, he worked for Columbiana Buick-Cadillac. He also worked for the Mahoning County Board of Elections.

Survivors include his wife Barbara; a son David (Pam) Matheny and a daughter Rene’ (Skip) Spires; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Linda A. Hall.

Services will be held at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. where friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Burial will take place in West Virginia.



Tribute: Lawrence “Larry” G. Galbincea

WARREN, Ohio – – Lawrence “Larry” G. Galbincea, 69, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 30, 2016 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Warren, Ohio.

Larry was born on March 29, 1947 in Warren, Ohio; son of the late George Galbincea and Thelda (McEwen) Galbincea.

He was a 1965 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School.

After high school, he joined the United States Army and proudly served his country from March 13, 1968 to October 6, 1969. After his honorable discharge he became a jeweler and Vice President of Diamonds Are Forever in Columbus, Ohio for 20 years until he retired. He moved back to the area in 2003 and was a member of North Park Baptist Church in Warren, Ohio.

He was an avid Ohio State sports fan and also enjoyed to watch the Cleveland Indians and Browns. He loved to spend time with his family, especially around the holidays.
Larry will be deeply missed by his two nephews, Brian (Kimberly) Massucci of Howland, Ohio and Brett (Jocelyn) Massucci of Las Vegas, Nevada; one niece, Renee Massucci of Cortland, Ohio; two great-nephews, Michael and Anthony Massucci; one great-niece, Alyssa Massucci; and a sister Lynne (Tony) Zendarski of Bristolville, Ohio.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Gail Massucci and a niece, Regina Massucci.

Funeral Services for Larry will be held Friday September 2, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel located at 180 Garfield Drive NE Warren, Ohio 44483.

Family and friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta Township.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to North Park Baptist Church located at 1464 N. Park Ave. Warren, Ohio 44483.

WARREN, Ohio – Barbara M. Wilson, 68, of Warren, passed away on Tuesday August 30, 2016, at Cleveland Clinic.

Barbara was born September 12, 1947 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Steven and Barbara (Mulac) Mizera.

Following retirement from Delphi Packard Electric after 30 plus years, Barbara owned and operated her own business Crystiques LTD.

She enjoyed bocce, gambling, bowling, her trips with family to Lake Erie and watching her grandson Cameron play sports.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Wilson, whom she married June 25, 1983; her children, Kari (Lou) Gasser of Girard and Brian (Chris) Petrosky of Girard; her stepchildren, Vicki (Jarrod) Wilson of Southington and Brian (Kate) Wilson of Gustavus; her brother, Richard (Luanna) Mizera of Cleveland, Tennessee; her grandson, Cameron D. Gasser; her step-grandchildren Case Shorts, Haley, Alix, and Maxwell Wilson; and her nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016, 11:00 a.m., at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Barbara will be laid to rest at Pineview Cemetery.

WARREN, Ohio – Gwendolyn Jane Daniel Lampley, 63, of 2891 Merriweather Street, N.W., Warren, Ohio, departed this life Monday, August 29, 2016 at 7:43 a.m. at the home of her daughter, following, an extended illness.

She was born March 6, 1953 in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of Willard D. Richburg and Dorothy L. Daniel.

Mrs. Lampley was employed with Delphi Packard Electric for 36 years as an Assembler, before retiring in 2008. After retirement, she worked as a Bus Aide for Community Bus Service from 2009-2011.

She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, president of the Church Anniversary Committee, Kitchen and Hospitality Committee’s, served as Presiding Judge and Poll Worker for the Trumbull County Board of Elections and belonged to the March Club.

She leaves to mourn two sons, Llewellyn J. Lampley and Adriel L. Lampley both of Warren; two daughters, Mrs. Ayana (Rodney) Allen and Ms. Vinitra C. Murray both of Warren; her mother, Ms. Dorothy L. Daniel of Warren; five brothers, Jeffrey D. (Barbara) Daniel of Howland, Ray A. (Carla) Daniel of Cortland, Gary L. Daniel of Warren, Ronald J. (Melanie) Richburg of Franklin, Pennsylvania and Darryl T. Richburg of Sharon, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Mrs. Felicia E. (Duane) Thomas of Youngstown and Ms. Pamela J. Daniel of Masury; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her father, husband, General L. Lampley and one grandson, Lorenzo Dawkins.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Second Baptist Church.

Calling Hours will be held Friday, September 2, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, 110 Funston, Youngstown.

Family will receive friends at 1818 Arthur Drive, N.W., Warren, the home of her daughter, Ayana Allen.

WARREN, Ohio – Mary Sember, 91, of Warren, Ohio passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Community Skilled Health Care Centre.

She was born January 5, 1925, in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late John and Esther (Makora) Lutheran.

She was a homemaker and a member of Champion Presbyterian Church.

Memories of Mary will be cherished by her daughter, Janet (Terry) Mercandino of Champion, Ohio; granddaughter, Cindy (Tom) Arcoria; great-grandchildren, Natalie and Joshua; and brother, Frank Lutheran of Phoenix, Arizona.

Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Sember, Jr., whom passed away December 16, 2013; sisters, Madeline Crawford, Irene Gibson and Elizabeth Sheridan; and brothers, Lawrence Lutheran, John Lutheran and Joe Lutheran.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor Jim Dittmar will officiate.

Friends may call from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warren, Ohio.

POLAND, Ohio – John L. Coman, 84, died Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in Hospice of the Valley’s Hospice House.

He was born July 21, 1932 in Youngstown, son of the late, Daniel Sr. and Rose Hash Coman.

John was employed as a sheet metal worker with A.A. Samuels and was a member of Sheet Metal Worker Union #33.

He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

John enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at LaVilla.

He leaves his children, John L. (Michile) Coman Jr. of Homerville, Cindy Coman-Liddle of Poland, Terri (Ron) Wentworth of Cochranton, Pennsylvania, James (Melanie) Domer of Cape Coral, Florida, Mark Domer of Poland, Adele Coman of Cleveland, Roxanne Colello of Youngstown and Enie Coman of Youngstown; nine grandchildren, Julia Liddle, Ryan Wentworth, Ashley Rexrode, Joshua Coman, Matthew Coman, Brandi Noll, Baylee Domer, Vickie Just and Valerie Voitus; six great grandchildren; his brothers, Richard and Eldon Ronald Coman; four sisters, Joan Naples, Nancy Koutsourais, Anita Holby and Helene Kish; two nieces, Kim (Scott) Beight and Leeann (Eric) Billock and many great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary G. Coman on February 28, 2004; his daughter, Debra Coman-Voitus, his brothers, Daniel Coman, Jr. and David L. Coman, his sisters, Ellen Louise Rogers, Rosemary Gerlach, Dorothy Greenwalt and Judith Laburina.

Prayer services will be Saturday, September 3 at 9:15 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St. Poland followed by a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1410 Oak Hill Dr. Youngstown, with the Rev. Fr. Edward P. Noga as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Poland Riverside Cemetery.

Friends will be received on Friday, September 2, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home.
