Helen Lindsay Obituary

NEW WATERFORD, Ohio – Helen Lindsay, 93, a longtime resident of New Waterford passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Covington Community Campus after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born August 1, 1924 in Weirton, West Virginia, daughter of the late Paul and Mary Scurok Kowalchik.

Helen was a member of the New Waterford United Methodist Church and was an avid seamstress and sewed for family and her community. She loved canning and cooking and was an active farm wife with her late husband, Charles. She was a longtime 4-H leader and member of various local card clubs.

Helen is survived by two sons, Tim (Gaye Ann) Lindsay and Scott (Mandy) Lindsay both of New Waterford; three daughters, Kathleen Lindsay of East Palestine, Sally (Don) Guy and Amy (Mike) Weingart both of New Waterford; daughter-in-law, Loretta Lindsay of New Waterford; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 2000; a son, Daniel Lindsay in 2016 and an infant daughter, Coreen Lindsay.

A memorial service will be held Monday evening, October 2, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the New Waterford United Methodist Church with Pastor J.P. Snyder and Ken Rambo officiating. The family will have a time of fellowship immediately following the service at the church.

A private burial will held at New Waterford Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made in her name in lieu of flowers to the New Waterford United Methodist Church.

LAKE LATONKA, Pennsylvania – Dale S. Vaughn of Lake Latonka passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017, in the intensive care unit of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 86.

There are no calling hours.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, October 1, 2017, in the Sharon Baptist Church, Knapp Avenue, Hermitage, Pennsylvania.

John J. “Jack” Appod, Sr. Obituary

MERCER, Pennsylvania – John J. “Jack” Appod, Sr. of Mercer passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at 8:18 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2017, in the emergency room of Grove City Medical Center. He was 68.

Mr. Appod was born October 23, 1948, in Farrell, a son of John J. and Dolores “Deb” (Planchak) Appod.

Following his graduation from Sharon High School in 1966, Jack attended trade school in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, specializing in auto-body repair.

As a young man he worked as an auto-body technician at his father’s car dealership and later worked in the same capacity at Ben Bissett Chevrolet, Mercer. Jack retired in 2005 from GE Transportation, Grove City, where he worked as an oil tank maintenance technician for 16 years.

He was of the Catholic faith.

Jack was a lifelong active member of the National Rifle Association.

He loved to be outdoors fishing, hunting and riding his motorcycle.

Surviving are three sons, John (Tionie) Appod, Jr., Baltimore, Maryland, Alex Appod and his fiancé Tabatha Roberts, Atlantic, Pennsylvania and Evan Appod, Pawling, New York; two sisters, Janet Brinkley, Las Vegas, Nevada and Laura (Ed) Donaldson, North Canton, Ohio; a brother, Jeff (Patricia) Appod, McDonald, Ohio and eight grandchildren, Jasmine, Kaylee, Connor, Kylie, Caelyn, Carter, Kara and Chance.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Monday, Ocotber 2, 2017, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E State Street, Sharon.

A graveside service will be held privately.

Interment will be in St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery, Farrell.

Eva V. Keefner Obituary

WARREN, Ohio – Mrs. Eva V. Keefner, 83, of Warren died Wednesday afternoon, September 27, 2017, at St. Elizabeth’s Belmont Avenue Medical Center.

She was born January 29, 1934, in Niles the daughter of the late Aniello and Angeline Gargano Villecco.

She had been a lifetime Trumbull county resident.

Eva was a 1952 graduate of Niles McKinley High School.

She worked for 35 years at GE Trumbull Lamp plant in Warren, retiring as a coil inspector.

Eva was an avid movie buff and especially enjoyed older movies and was extremely knowledgeable of movie and movie star trivia. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, tennis, bowling, traveling, sewing and was an accomplished seamstress, an excellent cook and an avid baseball fan, especially of Scrappers baseball. Eva loved spending time with her friends and family, loved family get togethers and cooking her weekly Sunday spaghetti dinners. She was a generous and selfless person and took pleasure in lending a kind and helping hand to friends and family. She had a great sense of humor, loved her cats and was well versed and active on the computer.

Eva was of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by one daughter, JoAnn (John) Michelakis and one son, James E. Keefner both of Warren; six grandchildren, James R. and Kayla Keefner and John A., Joseph, Jeffrey and James V. Michelakis; one great-grandson, Emmanuel Michelakis; one niece, Barbara Eschman and one nephew, John Villecco.

Besides by her parents, Eva was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Anthony Villecco and one sister, Eda Petrosky.

“Mom, you will be missed beyond measure and always and will forever be in our hearts and minds. We are who we are because of you.”

Per Eva’s wishes there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will be held.

WARREN, Ohio – Raymond N. Culver, 35, of Warren, died Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at his home.

He was born April 12, 1982 in Warren, the son of Albert J., Jr. and Lori A. (Cox) Culver and had lived in the area all his life.

Raymond attended Howland High School and was employed as a manager at the Kennsington Golf Club in Canfield for four years.

An avid NASCAR fan, he enjoyed watching races and cheering on his favorite driver, Jeff Gordon. He also enjoyed wrestling, the Browns and the Indians.

Surviving are his father and stepmother, Albert J., Jr. and Tamie Culver of Howland; his grandmother, Rosemary Culver of Warren; six children, Dominic J., Hannah N., Madison L., Raelynn A., Payton E. and Alicia M. Culver; a brother, Chad A. (Samantha) Culver of Warren; a sister, Tiffany L. (Joseph) Dean of Warren; the mother of five of his children, Leslie J. Culver of Warren; the mother of two of his children, Carrie L. Hall; two uncles, Joe (Edna) Culver of Niles and Billy Culver of Warren and two aunts, Linda (Larry) Dolph of New York and Jamie (Sid) Hartz of Newton Falls.

Preceding him in death are his mother, Lori Culver; an infant son, Anthony W. Culver; his maternal grandparents, Beverly and Ronald Cox; his paternal grandfather, Albert Culver, Sr.; an uncle, Michael Watt and two aunts, Brenda Culver and Tina Bright.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, with Rev. James Ellison officiating.

Interment will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park.

Warren Richard Shotts Obituary

LOWELLVILLE, Ohio – Warren Richard Shotts, 84, formerly of Hiram, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at his residence with his family by his side.

Warren was born January 18, 1933, in Youngstown, the son of the late Saul and Margaret (Lyle) Shotts and stepmother Catherine (Mayfield) Shotts.

Warren grew up in the Youngstown area, before moving to Georgia.

He worked for the Sheet Metal Local #85 in Atlanta, Georgia for 30 years, retiring in December, 1997.

In retirement, he enjoyed working for Cobb County Parks as a bus driver for the mentally challenged kids and oh how he loved those kids.

Warren enlisted in the National Guard in 1953 and transferred to the Army Reserve in 1954 and enlisted the Air Force in 1957.

He was a “jack of all trades”, if he couldn’t fix it, it was really broken.

Warren leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Ross and Darlene Shotts of Florence, South Carolina; his daughter, Debra Shotts of Easton, Pennsylvania; grandson, Richard and Ashley Capps of Douglasville, Georgia; sisters-in-laws, Kay Mealy of Tionesta, Pennsylvnmia, Charlotte Mealy of Farmington Township, Pennsylvania and many nephews and nieces.

Besides his parents and step mother, Warren was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, the former Mary Darlene (Mealy) Shotts; three brothers, Arnold Shotts, Myron Shotts and Ross Shotts; three sisters, Mary Louise Fleischer, Ruth McMahan and Zelda Shotts.

Family and friends may call on Monday, October 2, 2017, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman.

Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Leo Feher officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, Ohio 44512 in memory of Warren.

Pauline Ann Brocious Obituary

CORTLAND, Ohio – Pauline Ann Brocious, 67, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at St. Joseph Health Center after a two month battle with brain cancer.

Pauline was born on September 10, 1950, in Ringtown, Pennsylvania to Gordon and Joan (Stravinsky) Knipe.

On March 24, 1973, Pauline was united in marriage to Robert E. Brocious who survives.

Following high school, Pauline received her credentials for being an LPN. After working for several area nursing homes, she stayed home to raise her family. When she re-entered the workforce, she took a position in the bakery at Giant Eagle and had been there for 26 years.

Pauline was a woman of great faith. She was a member of Rock of Grace Family Ministries and was active in their WIC ministry. She was a generous and loving woman who loved everyone and was loved in return by all she met.

Pauline lived for her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved shopping in salvage shops, canning Bob’s homegrown veggies and hunting for beach glass on Kelly’s Island. She was also known to put a quarter or two in a slot machine on occasion as well as try her luck with scratch off lotto tickets.

A memorial service to celebrate Pauline’s life will be held on Saturday October 14, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at her church home Rock of Grace Family Ministries, 6745 State Route 5, Kinsman, Ohio 44428.

Besides her husband of 44 years, Bob, Pauline is survived by her son, James (Rachael) Brocious; her daughter, Amy Brocious-Naylor; her grandchildren, Breanna Naylor, Nathan Weisbarth and Brennan Brocious; her mother, Joan Knipe and her brother Robert Knipe. She was preceded in death by her father.

Memorial donations in Pauline’s name may be directed to Rock of Grace Family Ministries.

Carol J. (DePietro) Lennox Obituary

STRUTHERS, Ohio – Carol J. (DePietro) Lennox, 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family.

Carol was born October 26, 1947, in Youngstown, Ohio, daughter of the late Armand and Bertha (Veon) DiPietro.

She was a 1966 graduate of Struthers High School and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for several area nursing homes for 30 years.

Carol enjoyed Horticulture, drawing and was an animal enthusiast.

She was a free spirit and most of her nights she just loved to relax and watch animal planet.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Janice (Jim) Matricardi of Struthers, Pam (Jack) Webb of Tennessee, Darlene Bell of Struthers; her brother, Armand “Duke” (Anne) DiPietro of Poland; twin sisters, Judy Smith of Columbus and Shirley DePietro of Youngstown and two sister-in-laws, Louise DePietro of Poland and Carol DePietro of North Carolina along with six grandchildren, Christine Webb, Jimmy Matricardi, Evan Bell, Joey Matricardi, Tara Tamburro and Tamara Webb; her great-grandchildren, Julianna, Therrissa, Moses and Elia and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brothers, Carmine “Bill” DePietro and John DePietro and a granddaughter Alexis.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of the Valley for their exceptional care and concern given to Carol especially nurses, Tracey and Denise.

Stephen J. Sheronovich Obituary

BOARDMAN, Ohio – There will be a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church for Stephen J. Sheronovich, 85, who passed away Friday, September 29, 2017, in Hospice House.

Stephen was the son of John and Angela Sheronovich.

Sheronovich born on December 13, 1931.

He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years and was also a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran who served in the Korean War.

Stephen was signed by the Cleveland Indians Organization while playing minor league baseball and was inducted into the Old Timers Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Cardelein of 61 years, whom he married September 22, 1956; his sons, Raymond, Steven and Robert Sheronovich; his daughter, Laurie Kikel; seven grandchildren and his sisters, Margaret Schragal, Anna Marie Rohrbaugh and Donna Dietz.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Siranovic.

BRISTOLVILLE, Ohio – Edith Ann Baker, 71, of Bristolville, Ohio died Friday, September 29, 2017, at her home.

She was born September 29, 1946, in Marion, Ohio, a daughter of the late Warren and Princess (James) Carlyle.

On August 20, 1966, she married Paul E. Baker who survives.

Edith graduated from New Bloomington High School.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Paul E. Baker of Bristolville, Ohio; son, Roy D. Baker of Bristolville, Ohio; daughter, Michaela A. Kimmet of Bristolville, Ohio; son, Jason E. Baker of Bazetta, Ohio; sisters, Judy Walker, Thelma Ayers, Kate Browning; brothers, Clair Carlyle, Jesse Carlyle; sisters, Ruby Saunders, Wanda Hay, Joyce Woods, Janice Crumm as well as nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as two brothers and one sister.

Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at Believers Church, 2577 Schenley Avenue NE, Warren, Ohio 44483, where Pastor Bill Carter will officiate.

Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at Believers Church.

Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, Bazetta Township, Ohio, 3823 Hoagland Blackstub Road, Cortland, Ohio 44410.

Jack B. Jackson Obituary

LISBON, Ohio – Jack B. Jackson, 79, passed away at his home, Friday, September 29, 2017, after a years-long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Jack was born June 13, 1938 in Fairmont, West Virginia, a son of the late James and Flossie (Lipscomb) Jackson and had moved to Ohio in 1957.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Jackson worked for several area painting contractors before ultimately starting his own company, Jackson Painting, which he operated until his retirement in 2003.

He was cofounder and bass singer for God’s Quad, a Southern Gospel quartet. He sang with the quartet for some 20 years, until failing memory caused him to walk away. He was also instrumental in founding a men’s fast-pitch softball league in Lisbon and Salem in the 1960’s playing for many years as a center fielder for Toot Trucking, among other teams. Jack was also a longtime little league baseball coach and girls softball coach.

He was a member of the Lisbon Trinity Friends Church, where he served as worship leader, Elder and choir director for many years. He also coached and played for the church’s slow-pitch softball team.

His wife, Joan R. (Holbert) Jackson, whom he married November 28, 1957, preceded him in death January 20, 2013.

Jack leaves behind four sons, Dave (Jami Bates) Jackson, Doug (Mary Beth) Jackson, and Rodney Jackson, all of Lisbon and Bob (Chris) Jackson of Youngstown; a sister, Linda MacGill of Bridgeport, West Virginia; a niece and nephew, whom he help raise, Marjorie and David (Melissa) Schell, both of East Liverpool; grandchildren, J.R. Jackson of Albany, New York, Brian (Heather) Jackson of Sebring, Michelle Jackson of Newgarden, Krista (Aaron) Colvin of Lisbon, Kelly (Brandon) Cantrell of Akron, Mindy (Mallory Jarem) Jackson of Mayfield Heights, Ohio, Christopher Miller of Youngstown and Joe Varkonyi of East Palestine; great nieces, Allison and Danielle Schell of East Liverpool; eight great-grandchildren and his companion, Elizabeth Brown.

In addition to his parents and wife, Jack was also preceded in death by his brothers, James “Bud” Jackson, Darrell Jackson, Bernard Jackson, Marvin Jackson and Robert Jackson and by his sisters, Virginia Schell, Eloise Lovegrove, Lena Jackson and Sandra Jackson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at the Lisbon Trinity Friends Church, 33937 State Route 30, Lisbon, with Pastor Ron Robinson of the church officiating.

Burial with full military honors will follow at the Lisbon Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 2, 2017, at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home and on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church.

The family also suggest that memorial contributions be made to the Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.

BEAVER, Pennsylvania – Barry W. Garman, 73, a resident of Beaver Falls, formerly of Columbiana County, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017, at the Beaver Medical Center.

Barry was born July 6, 1944, in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, son of the late Paul and Grace Foley Garman.

He was a Machinist for Harold Tools in Columbiana for a number of years prior to his retirement.

He was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan.

Barry is survived by one daughter, Donna Hancock of East Palestine; three sons, Andrew (Rachel) Garman of Atlanta, Georgia, Tim Garman of Orlando, Florida, Daniel Garman of Detroit, Michigan; stepson, Anthony Foote of Columbiana; brother, Tom Garman of Sebring, Florida; four sisters, Lois Hogue of Beaver Falls, Peggy Thorman of New Castle, Marie Dishler of Beaver, Patty Garman of Beaver Falls; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Paul, Jr. , Harold, Jimmy and Bobby Garman as well as a sister, Judy Henderson.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, October 3, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at the funeral home with Rev. David Sutton officiating.

Interment will follow at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.

MINERAL RIDGE, Ohio – Ronald W. Madden, 84, of Mineral Ridge, died Friday, September 29, 2017 at his residence.

He was born December 3, 2017 in Mauston, Wisconsin, the son of Norman and Deama (Fiene) Madden.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Ron worked in construction as a steamfitter.

Surviving are four children, Mark Madden of Muskego, Wisconsin, Kim Madden of Sheridan, Wyoming, Kelly Ludlow of Texas and Kay Madden of Wisconsin; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Conroy Madden of Panama City, Florida and a sister, Gloria Noe of Mauston, Wisconsin.

His parents and his wife, Helen Gail Madden, precede him in death.

Per his request, cremation is taking place.

No services or calling hours are scheduled at this time.

JAMESTOWN, Pennsylvania – Sarah M. Seyler, age 89, of Liberty St., Jamestown, Pennsylvania passed away Friday evening, September 29, 2017 at Ashtabula County Nursing Home in Kingsville, Ohio.

She was born in Linesville on February 27, 1928, a daughter of Ira and Margaret (Mayo) Oxley.

On October 25, 1949 Sarah married Earl Seyler, he passed away March 24, 1989.

She was a registered nurse and worked with her husband on their dairy farm.

She was a member of Hartstown Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by a sister, Arline Atkins of Mauldin, South Carolina and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Clara Vannoy and five brothers, David Oxley, William Oxley, Carl Oxley, Richard Oxley and Edward Oxley.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown, Pennsylvania.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Rachel Johns, officiating Pastor of Linesville Presbyterian Church.

Charles Robert Stewart Obituary

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio – Charles Robert Stewart, 90 of Liberty Township died early Saturday morning, September 30, 2017.

Charles, known as “Bob”, was born January 9, 1927 in Youngstown, a son of the late Charles Robert and Verdie Stewart.

He graduated from the Rayen High School and served in the U.S. Army, having been stationed in West Germany for several years in the early 1950’s.

Bob was a mechanical engineer with studies at both Youngstown State University and University of Akron, then worked for Youngstown Sheet and Tube, McKay Machine and Wean Engineering.

He was a member of the Wick Lodge #481 F & AM.

Bob enjoyed fishing and passed that love onto several of his grandchildren, to his delight. In his retirement years he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Sophie and friends, as well as to wineries on Lake Erie.

He was a loving father and generous grandfather.

His wife, the former Sophia Teglas, whom he married August 25, 1956, died May 16, 2013.

He is survived by daughters, Kimberly Stewart (Jim Bates) and Diana Stewart (Mo Darwish) and grandchildren, Marta Stewart-Bates, Ian Stewart-Bates (Kacey Cummings), Rafia Darwish, Benjamin Stewart-Bates (Christine Perzinski), Emma Stewart-Bates, Sam Darwish, Charlie Stewart-Bates and Sylvia Stewart-Bates; sister, Virginia “Sally”(Ron) Hatch; brothers-in-law John Teglas and William Pete Teglas (Bonnie).

Besides his parents and his wife, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, William D. Stewart.

A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m.

BOARDMAN, Ohio – Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Anstrom Chapel, 8387 Tod Ave., Boardman for Richard R. Pavlicko, 72 of Boardman who died Saturday afternoon, September 30, 2017 at his residence, he was 72.

Richard was born March 14, 1945 in Youngstown, a son of the late Colman and Ann Betty (Vrobel) Pavlicko.

He grew up in Struthers and graduated from Struthers High School in 1963.

He worked as a dispatcher for Falcon Transport for 31 years, retiring in August of this year.

Richard enjoyed bowling and golfing and was an avid sports fan. He especially loved cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Indians and the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers.

His wife, the former Jean E. Brown, whom he married July 3, 1976, died November 19, 2001.

He leaves his daughter, Kelly (Russ) Sigworth of New Middletown; a son, Eric (Kristina) Pavlicko of Boardman; four grandchildren, Logan and Landon Sigworth and Grant and Brynn Pavlicko. Richard also leaves his two sisters, Cheryl Mihin of Columbiana and Cindy Flores of Campbell and his beloved dogs, Maggie and Pepe.

Friends may call from 4:00 – 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, October 5 at the funeral home prior to the service.

BOARDMAN, Ohio – Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Fox Funeral Home for Jeanette M. Crawford, 57 of Boardman, who passed away peacefully Saturday morning, September 30, 2017 with her family by her side.

She was born June 8, 1960 in Youngstown, a daughter of Jack and Joan Conroy Favia.

She was a 1978 graduate of Struthers High School.

She was an administrative assistant at Mahoning and Huntington Banks Trust Department.

Jeanette was an avid bowler, cross-stitcher and loved going to the lake.

Besides her mother, Joan (Pete) Egley, she leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Bill E. Crawford, whom she married November 8, 1997; a son, Joseph Crawford; sisters, Jacqueline (Carl) George and Mary McCabe; a brother, Jack (Trish) Favia; mother-in-law, Carol Crawford; brother-in-law, Scott (Anne) Crawford and several nieces and nephews.

Lehman “Leh” Ray Tatum Obituary

WARREN, Ohio – Lehman “Leh” Ray Tatum, 64, of Warren, Ohio, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 30, 2017 at his home, after a long illness.

He was born December 27, 1952 in Warren, Ohio, a son of the late Woodrow A. Tatum and Mary E. (Treadwell) Tatum.

On October 15, 2004, he married Joyce E. (Estep) Perkins and they spent the last 12 years together.

Leh graduated from Warren G. Harding as a member of the class of 1971. He went to Kent State and Youngstown State University where he studied engineering.

Leh worked as a Component Engineer and retired from Delphi Packard after 32 years.

Lehman was presently a member of Victory Christian Center Warren Campus. Prior to that he was a member for 30 years at Warren First Assembly of God, where he was on the church board and was the Sunday School Superintendent. Leh also helped found Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Howland. He loved to spread the word of God and created a radio and tv show called Gospel Music Alive that was on the air for five years.

He volunteered with the Salvation Army helping guide young men in their lives.

Lehman loved golfing and played on the church league. He also enjoyed gardening and working with his tools. Most of all Leh loved his family, from his kids to nieces and nephews and cousins. He was always known as a helper.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Joyce A. Tatum of Warren, Ohio; son, Christian Tatum of Warren, Ohio; daughter, Olivia (Michael) Delaquila of Cortland, Ohio; stepchildren, James (Joyce) Perkins of Warren, Ohio, Jacqueline (Frank) Zaborowski of Stafford, Virginia, Joyce Palfrey of Portsmouth, Virginia, Jef (Patricia) Fisher of Warren, Ohio and Angela (Jamie) Kurtz of Raleigh, North Carolina; his first wife, Susan Cardinali of Howland, Ohio; sisters, Sarah (Benny) Armstrong of Howland, Ohio and Willie (Melvin) Conner of Bazetta, Ohio; grandchildren, Michelle, Matt, Mindy, Stephen, Sarah, Michael, Vickie, Abby, Adam and Brian, as well as 12 great-grandchildren; an aunt, Earlene Russell and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert A. (Carol) Tatum, Sr. and nephew, Robert A. Tatum, Jr.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor Mikel Lagaras will officiate.

Friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on October 4, 2017 at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, an also one hour prior to the service the next day.

Interment will be in Meadow Brook Memorial Park, Warren, Ohio.

Lacie E. Cordle Obituary

NEWTON FALLS, Ohio – Lacie E. Cordle, 77, of Newton Falls, Ohio, formerly of Champion, went home with the Lord on September 30, 2017 at his farm.

He was born May 16, 1940 in Minford, Ohio, a son of the late Selca E. Cordle and Susie (Ross) Cordle.

On June 25, 1960, he married the former Patricia L. Bayardi. They spent the next 57 years together.

Lacie was a graduate of Minford High School Class of 1958 and was employed as a tow motor operator at the General Motors Lordstown for 33 years, retiring in 1999. Lacie also ran an Amish taxi service up until he got sick.

He was a longtime member of Warren First Assembly of God Church and was also a member of the Farm Bureau and UAW 1112.

He loved working on his farm and instilled his strong work ethic on his family, who meant the world to him.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Patricia L. Cordle of Newton Falls, Ohio; children, Gayle (Eugene) Noark of Champion, Ohio, Phyllis Jilg of Warren, Ohio, Michael (Shelley) Cordle of Newton Falls, Ohio and Beverly (Bill Horrell) Hansen of Newton Falls, Ohio; grandchildren, Colin Danks of Warren, Ohio, Stephanie (Dennis) Madorma of Cortland, Ohio, Heidi (Joshua) Dingus of Champion, Ohio, Sarah (Derek Bodo) Jilg of Austintown, Ohio, Miranda (Brian) Ramsey of Charlotte, North Carolina, Steven (Marissa) Cordle of Newton Falls, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Xavier, Rhiannon, Aleda, Adrielle, Harlow and Joslyn; brothers, Bill, John and Floyd; sisters, Janet, Linda and Mary.

Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor Mikel Lagaras will officiate.

Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on October 3, 2017 at the funeral home.

Interment will take place privately at Hawley Cemetery, Paris Township, Ohio.


Maxine L. Disko Obituary

NILES, Ohio – Maxine L. Disko, 86, passed away peacefully at 6:35 a.m., Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the Gilette Nursing Home in Warren following complications of a stroke.

Maxine was born in Martinise, California on October 2, 1930, the daughter of Lorn H. and Mellsinda (Kelly) Green and came to this area as a child.

Maxine was a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and was a homemaker and caregiver for her family.

She was an active member and past president of the Trumbull County Garden Club and was a certified master gardener from Ohio State University. Maxine was a very active and feisty spirited woman and enjoyed teaching ceramics and flower arranging. She enjoyed participating in local politics.

Maxine is survived by a son, Steve (Cindy) Disko of Niles; daughter, Tina Disko at home; daughter in law, Kara (Disko) Natoli of Charlotte, North Carolina; sister, Shirley (Jim) Hale of Austintown; brother, Dick (Linda) Green of Austintown; four grandchildren, Jason (Amanda Stewart) Disko, Mark Disko, Rachel Leedy and Mike Disko; three great-grandchildren, Zachary, J. J. and Kaylin and several nieces and nephews.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Disko, whom she married April 16, 1955 and he died May 17, 2001; a son, Brian L. Disko died August 3, 2003; sister, Nancy Stoner and brother, Bud Green.

Funeral services will be held at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, October 4, 2017 with the Rev. James Korda of Saint Stephen Church officiating.

Family and friends may call at the Holeton-Yuhasz funeral home Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from – 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services.

Burial will follow at Niles City Cemetery.
