NORTH JACKSON, Ohio – Our dad was a private man but he loved to talk. He was faithful but he loved to question. He grieved often but he also loved generously. He loved to argue. A good debate sustained him, yet he was a quiet man, full to the brim with unspoken ideas and possibilities. He was sure of himself, yet he constantly reminded us just how little he knew.
Dad was always in the process of becoming the man he hoped to be. In our journey forward, what more can really be asked of us? We must live and learn as much as we can about this messy and often tragic world and then we must love as fully as we have the strength to do. Our dad did this and he did it beautifully with his whole heart. He left us with a smile on his face.
