Theresa R. Hacon (Baker), Austintown, Ohio

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Theresa R. Hacon (Baker) died Sunday, February 16, at Omni Manor Nursing Home with her family at her side.

Born December 28, 1927 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Zelhoffer) Baker.

Preceded in death by her brothers, sisters and in-laws, she was the last member of that generation’s Hacon and Baker families. Her husband, Thomas (a.k.a. the Popcorn Man at the Canfield Fair) preceded her in death, as did two sons, Steve and Jack.

She leaves her daughter, Judy (Fred) Michalski, sons Thomas and Terry and her daughter-in- law, Jill, along with nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was an excellent homemaker and cook. Family dinners were an event with everyone enjoying her stuffed cabbage, chicken soup with homemade noodles and kolachi. Those recipes were passed on and the tradition will continue.

There were no calling hours and private services were held at Lane Family Funeral Homes in Austintown.

WEST POINT, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Judith A. “Judy” Anderson, 81, of High Street, passed away at 12:48 p.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at the Salem West Healthcare Center following a recent illness.

Mrs. Anderson was born August 20, 1938 in Salem, Ohio, a daughter of the late Harold C. and Neva Hazel (Garrard) Exline.

Judy worked as a bartender at the Lisbon Eagles and Lisbon VFW for many years and also as a laundry attendant at the Laundry Barn.

She was a member of the West Point Church of the Nazarene, the Lisbon Eagles ladies auxiliary, Lisbon VFW ladies auxiliary and she enjoyed listening to country music.

Her husband, Robert John Anderson, Sr., whom she married February 2, 1968, preceded her in death January 9, 2007. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene “Gene” Exline, Larry Exline and Paul Exline and by her stepson, Robert J. “RJ” Anderson II.

Judy is survived by her son, Robby Anderson of Lisbon; stepdaughter, Roberta Percy of Melbourne, Florida; sisters, Sharon Harrison of Rockwall, Texas and Ida (Steve) Grabowski of Salem and brothers, James Exline of Salem, Russell Exline of Naugatuck, Connecticut

Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, February, 22, 2020 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Simms officiating. 

Private burial will take place at Woodsdale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, February 22 at the funeral home prior to services.

William Edward Stanley, Lisbon, Ohio

LISBON, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – William Edward “Bill” Stanley, 90, of South Lincoln Avenue, quietly passed away at 7:05 p.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Continuing Healthcare of Lisbon.

Mr. Stanley recently celebrated his 90th birthday, as he was born January 4, 1930 in Alliance, Ohio, a son of the late Lyman John Stanley and the late Mable Irene May (Varner) Potts.

A 1948 graduate of Lisbon David Anderson High School.

Bill retired as a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Post office after 35 years of faithful service.

He was a member of the Lisbon First Christian Church; Lisbon Eagles Aerie 2216, where he was a Golden Eagle; Lisbon American Legion Post 275; New Lisbon Lodge 65 F&AM; chapter; council and commandary.

Bill also proudly served our country as a member of the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Geraldine (Lipp) Stanley, whom he married August 30, 1974; daughters, Colleen (Bob) Turner and Sharon Waite; son, Allen (Laurie) Stanley; stepdaughters, Nancy (Don) Jugenhiemer, Cheryl (Phil) Silliman, Mary Lou (Doyle) Pahona, Joyce Birch and Patty Soules; stepsons, Dick (Terrie) Spooner, Larry (Myra) Spooner, Jeff (Sharon) Spooner, Roger (Suzanne) Spooner, Jim Spooner and Bruce Spooner; half-sister, Sally Byred; 36 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by his son, William W. Stanley; sons-in-law, James “J.O.” Birch and Allan Waite and grandson, Jessie Birch.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2020 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home, where a Masonic Service will be held at 1:45 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 24, 2020 at the funeral home with Bob Garwood officiating. 

Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit.

HUBBARD, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Vincent G. Pompili, age 87, formerly of Canfield and Hubbard passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Avenue at Aurora located in Aurora, Ohio.

Vincent was born November 11, 1932 in Hubbard, Ohio a son of Eugene and Raphael Scarpine Pompili.

He was a 1949 graduate of Hubbard High School and a 1960 graduate of Akron Barber College.

He was the owner of Vince’s Barber Shop in Hubbard since 1963.

He was a lifetime member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church of Hubbard, member of Saint Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church of Austintown, member of Knights of Columbus and was active in the Youngstown Cursillo Movement.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

His wife, the former Mary Jane Cherniga, whom he married in 1955 passed away January 8, 2016.

He will be sadly missed and remembered by his family: his daughter, Karen Pompili Klasic (Kevin Klasic) of Lansdale, Pennsylvania; his sons, Dr. Vincent J. (Suzanne) Pompili of Moorestown, New Jersey and Eugene (Marie) Pompili of Hudson, Ohio and six grandchildren Kristen and Lauren Klasic, Maria and Caroline Pompili, Madeline and Jessica Pompili.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife and brothers, John Pompili, Joseph Pompili, Sr., Edward G. Pompili, Paul Pompili and Eugene D. Pompili and sisters, Dora Pompili, Philomena Pompili, Antoinette Foley and Lucille Hardin.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020 at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Hubbard with calling hours prior to the Mass from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m.

Private interment will be at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Jacqueline Leone Dennis, 79, of Fifth Avenue, passed away 3:00 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2020, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, following an extended illness.

She was born November 24, 1940, in Youngstown, the daughter of Hance and Olive Robinson Dennis.

Jacqueline had retired from employment as a practical nurse and was a member of St. Andrewes AME Church and Williams-Heath Missionary Society.

She enjoyed reading, word seek / search puzzles, traveling and loved dining in new restaurants. She also loved being with family and friends.

Jacqueline is survived by her sisters, Judy Diane Dennis and Jean Ardith Smith and her brother, Hayden Howard Dennis, all of Youngstown; her special cousin / brother, James Lottier, Jr.; two nephews, Harold Dennis, Jr. and Hance Dennis, Jr.; niece, Felicia Dennis; two great-nieces and one great-nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Harold and Hance Dennis.

Calling hours will be 10:00 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. service Friday, February 21, 2020, at St. Andrewes AME Church, with the Rev. Jeannette Hubbard.

Burial will be in Tod Homestead Cemetery, Youngstown.

Gregory Allan Johnson, Warren, Ohio

WARREN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Gregory Allan Johnson, 60, of Warren, passed away at his home Friday, February 14, 2020.

He was born December 31, 1959, a son to the late Moses L. Johnson, Sr. and Florence Johnson (Cabrero).

Gregory was a 1977 graduate of South Side High School and attended YSU.

He was employed by North Side Hospital.

He loved his music. He was a singer/songwriter, a member of Youngstown’s Total Package Band, played keyboard at Elim Christian Center, worked as a disc jockey and provided music therapy at many homes for the elderly.

Gregory leaves to cherish his memories to his wife, Kimberlyne Johnson; sons, Christopher Johnson and Brandon Johnson and stepson, Deontae Breckenridge; daughter, Janiyah Musica Johnson and stepdaughter, NaTarra Lewis; brother, Moses (Itlean) Mahdee; sisters, Loretta Tutwiler and Elaine (Teddy) Simms and sister-in-law, Deborah Johnson; stepgrandchildren, Na’Dion Young and Marrah Campbell and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred, Cortez and Vincent Johnson.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the Zion Dominion of Youngstown, 2003 Wilson Avenue. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., prior to services.

James Lee “Grub” Gravink, Brookfield, Ohio

BROOKFIELD, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – James Lee “Grub” Gravink, of Brookfield, Ohio, passed away of natural causes in his residence at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2020. He was 77.

On July 19, 1942, James was born in Youngstown, Ohio, a son to Mildred E. (Savage) Smith and Gordon Gravink.

After graduating from Leavittsburg High School, Grub went on to serve in the U.S. Navy from 1961-63. He also attended YSU for one year and Kent State for two years.

For 30 years, he worked as a technician for Packard Electric. After his retirement, he enjoyed helping out at Yankee Lake and also served as a councilman.

Grub was an avid YSU sports fan and he enjoyed building, remodeling, swimming and camping.

He is survived by his daughters, Michelle Roberts and her husband, Terry, of North Carolina and Nicole Vesy and her husband, Tom, of Ohio; a brother, Greg Gravink of Ohio; grandchildren, Jamison Roberts, Thomas Vesy and Victoria Vesy; a niece, Jessica Smith and her husband, Josh, of Ohio and their children, Trista, Leah and Joshua and best friends, Carole Cook and Debbie Briscoe, both of Ohio.

Grub is preceded in death by his parents; stepparents, Harvard Smith and Alice Gravink and sisters, Beverly Gravink and Carol Gravink.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. in the John Flynn Funeral Home Chapel.

A funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Saturday, February 22.

Margaret May “Maggie” Carroll, Howland Township, Ohio

HOWLAND TOWNSHIP, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – On Sunday, February 16, 2020, Margaret May “Maggie” Carroll, age 27, of Howland Township passed into the loving arms and peace of Christ.

She was born in Warren, Ohio on April 20, 1992 to Patrick Glenn Carroll of Niles, Ohio and Shirley Ann (Berenics) Carroll of Howland, Ohio. 

Besides her parents, Maggie is survived by her beloved children, Marlee Leach (9), Farrah Tater (5) and Addison Tater (18 months); sisters, Kristy (Andy Miller) Reifinger of Painesville, Ohio and Harley (fiancé, Tom Boyer) Carroll of Youngstown, Ohio; grandfather, Kalman Berenics II of Florida; aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Maggie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gladys Berenics, Helen Berenics, Harold Carroll and Margaret Carroll. 

Maggie graduated Mineral Ridge High School in 2010

She enjoyed making crafts, going on adventures in the park and making others laugh. She was the family free spirit and will be remembered for her loving and caring heart and beautiful soul. One of her favorite things was spending time with her family, especially her three daughters. 

No public service will be observed. A private family viewing will be held for Maggie’s family and children.

Billy Gunn, Farrell, PA

FARRELL, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – A home going celebration in honor of Mr. Billy Gunn will be held Monday, February 24, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Second Baptist Church in Farrell, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Gunn departed this life for heavenly realms on Sunday, February 16, 2020.

Mr. Gunn was born on January 13, 1940 in Talladega, Alabama a son of Mamie Gunn and Ernest Gaddis. He was 80 years old. A former resident of Massachusetts and Nevada, he has made the Shenango Valley his home in 1972.

Mr. Gunn was a member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church of Farrell, where he served faithfully as a trustee, men’s choir, senior usher’s board and Comfort Ministry.

He was a loyal and founding member of the Over the Hill Gang Ministry of the Shenango Valley.

Mr. Gunn was formerly employed with Container Products as a stainless steel welder. He retired at the age of 65, after 15 years of service in 1985.

He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his four daughters, Tonja Gunn, Kelly Ross, Janea Gunn and RaTasha (Justin) Sims; his siblings, Rosie (Neva) Lawson, Rachel Riley, Donald Gunn, Charlie (Kim) Willis, Richard (Lora) Willis, Jerry Willis and Forrest Underwood; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Ruth Atwood and his uncles, Lee Gunn and Lawrence Gaddis.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 24 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service.

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Ethel Avanell “Nellie” Brown, Liberty, Ohio

LIBERTY, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Ethel Avanell “Nellie” (Thompson) Brown, 89, passed away at 4:40 a.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the Liberty Health Care Center.

She was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky on January 4, 1931 the daughter of Virgil L. and Marietta (Baer) Tabor.

She resided most of her life in Niles and attended the First Baptist Church of Howland and the First Baptist Church of Niles. 

In 1958, she started the “Top Ten Club” a mother’s social club where the ladies would meet monthly for dinner, fun conversation and card games. In later years they would also make hard tack candy to fund their adventurous annual bus trip and their summer picnic.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting and making ceramics. She especially cherished the time spent with her loving family. 

Avanell is survived by five daughters, Teresa (Mark) Clapp of Wilmington, North Carolina, Joyce (George) Oaks of Niles, Kathy Jo (David) Maier of Fountain Hills, Arizona, Jackie Lynn (Rob) McCauley of Lake Milton and Kendra Renee (Justin) McKay of Reynoldsburg; husband, Kenneth Brown of Niles; six grandchildren, Jennifer Oaks, Bryan Ziak, Todd Ziak, Joseph Rizk, Brandon McKay and Zachary McKay and four great-grandchildren, Colin, Noah, Emily and Zoe Ziak. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Allen Thompson whom she married in 1951 and who died on September 10, 1974; three sisters, Wilma Lowe, Elizabeth Butler and Ruey Faye Earls and five brothers, Charles Tabor, Harlan Tabor, Jack Tabor, Marion Tabor and Virgil Eugene Tabor. 

Calling hours will be 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon on Monday, February 24, 2020 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at Noon.

Burial will be in Greenhaven Cemetery.

SHARON, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – William H. “Bill” Griffith, 66, of Sharon, passed away suddenly Wednesday, February 19, 2020, in Sharon Regional Medical Center.

Bill was born November 14, 1953, in Sharon, a son of the late William Powell and Patricia (Blackburn) Griffith.

A lifelong area resident, he graduated from the former Kennedy Christian school in 1971.

At age 15, he began working for Fred Kloos at Fred W. Kloos and Son Service Station in Sharon. Bill purchased the station from Fred in 1989 and continued to run the station until his passing. For Bill, the station was more than just a place for people to get gas or to get their cars repaired. He loved hanging out with his “Board of Directors” at the shop and spending time there with the “Breakfast Club.” Bill also loved Christmas and every year on the Saturday before the holiday, he would hold his annual party at the station with an endless supply of food and drink.

Bill was a member of St. Anthony’s Church, Sharon.

He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Apollo Maennerchor Club, both in Sharon.

He was a Pittsburgh sports fan and enjoyed going to concerts at Buhl Park. He also provided support for Sharon High School sports and activities, such as the football boosters, yearbook and robotics club.

He is survived by two daughters, Michele Jones and her husband, Eric, of Allison Park, Pennsylvania and Jennifer Messer of Watha, North Carolina; a son, William R. Griffith and his wife, Jill, of Reynolds and their mother, Crystal Griffith of Wilmington, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Jordan and Morgan Griffith, of Sharon, Tyler, Kaelyn, Asher and Carissa Jones; a great-grandchild, Kimberly Griffith; three sisters, Carole Werner of Masury, Ohio, Joan Walton of Hermitage and Marilyn Borawski and her husband, Dennis, of Holland, Michigan and a brother, Edward Griffith and his wife, Janie, of Sharon. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Carol Bukovinsky of Sharpsville; his best buddy and sidekick, John Geisel and his companion, Gayle Cione.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Charles Werner, Paul “Skip” Walton and Jack Bukovinsky.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 24 in St. Anthony’s Church, 804 Idaho Street, Sharon.

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hermitage.

WARREN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Robert “Bob” W. Bingham, 62, of Warren, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Bob was born September 20, 1957 in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late Robert C. and Nancy Lee (Sexton) Bingham.

Bob was a jack-of-all-trades and was always offering his talents to anyone in need. Bob was an avid outdoors-man and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brother. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Indians and NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, Sr.


Bob is preceded in death by his parents.


Bob is survived by his children, Robin DiGiacomo, Chrissy Foster, Brandon Bingham (Teresa Tatar) and Robert “Bobby” C. Bingham (Airica Zarbaugh); his siblings, Brenda (Mike) Bradley, Shelley (Mike) Holton, Paula (Dave) Snyder, Annette Himes and William (Alison) Bingham; his grandchildren, Seth, Isabella, Donovan, Aaron, Vincent, Lincoln, Christian, Landon, Bella, Dillon, Blake and Jaxson; his great-grandson, Santino and several nieces and nephews, especially Dakota and Paul. Bob is also survived by Bobbie K., who always remained dear to his heart.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 29 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Diane Marie Tatarka, 62, passed away Thursday afternoon, February 19, 2020 at her home.

Diane was born January 9, 1958 in Youngstown the daughter of Dick and Gloria (Palmer) Dutton.

She was a 1976 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School.

Diane was a Catholic by faith and formerly attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.

She was a homemaker, loving wife and mother.

Diane enjoyed attending the sporting events of her children and her nieces and nephews. She also loved cooking and baking, as well as, gaming.

Diane leaves her husband, Frank Tatarka, whom she married June 19, 1976; there two sons, Jason (Lauralee) Tatarka of Lake Milton and Timothy (Danielle) Tatarka of Atlanta, Georgia. Diane also leaves five siblings, Richard (Sue) Dutton of North Jackson, Mary Maguire of Craig Beach, Michael (Mary) Dutton of Liberty, David (Maria) Dutton of Southington and Chris (John) Weaver of Niles.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Gloria.

EAST PALESTINE, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Kenneth W. Riggle, 85, passed away at 12:40 a.m. Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Masternick Memorial Health Center in New Middletown.

He was born January 18, 1935 in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, son of the late James and Helen Lambert Riggle.   

Ken was a lifelong resident of Beaver and Columbiana Counties. He attended Beaver, Pennsylvania High School and Geneva College.

He was employed at Westinghouse, then later at Conrail (Norfolk Southern) for 20 years as a Communications Engineer prior to his retirement in 1999.

He was a Lutheran by faith, a US Navy veteran and active in amateur radio, where he was known as call sign W3FCQ.

Kenneth loved motorcycles and muscle cars most especially Harley Davidsons and Mustangs.

He is survived by his wife of eleven years, Kathy Rhodes Riggle; son, Robert (Patty) Riggle of Beaver Falls; daughter, Debby (Bill) Kroll of Sterritt Island, Florida, Marci (Randy) Morris of Lisbon; step son, Edward (Alyssa) Young of Green Acres, Florida; step daughter, Cynthia Knight of Beaver Falls; step sister, Patricia Goodwin of New Hampshire; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 24, 2020 evening from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 p.m.

A private interment will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made in his name to Alchemy Acres or any animal charity of one’s choice.

POLAND, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Randy A. McBride, 50 of Poland passed peacefully Wednesday morning February 19, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.

Randy was born February 28, 1969 in Youngstown, a son of Robert and Barbara (Venglarcik) McBride and had been a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1989 graduate of Poland High School and had attended Youngstown State University and worked to become a CNC machinist working in the Warren and Cleveland areas. 

Randy enjoyed woodworking, even creating his own woodworking shop where he created personal gifts for family members. He loved spending time with family and friends by listening to music, sharing stories, telling jokes and laughing. He will be remembered for his tremendous sense of humor and had been an inspiration to others in how he battled his illness.

Besides his mother, with whom he made his home, he leaves two brothers, Robert (Francine) McBride of Berlin Center and Ryan (Laura) McBride of Poland; his sister, Marci (Joseph Salman) McBride of Canfield; his children, Bridgette, Brendan and Madeleine. He also leaves his nieces and nephews, Robert, Ian and Emily McBride, Colin, Patrick and Ethan McBride, and Faye and Farrah Salman.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by two infant sisters, Christina and Shannon McBride and his aunt, Carol King.

A memorial mass for Randy will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2020 at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Boardman With Father Philip Rogers officiating.

Friends may call from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the mass at the church.

NEW CASTLE, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – Don R. “Big Don” Wills, 75, of New Castle passed away peacefully surrounded by family early Thursday morning, February 20, 2020, in Allegheny General Hospital, following a brief illness.

Mr. Wills was born October 24, 1944, in New Castle, a son of the late John and Flora (Norris) Wills. He was a lifelong area resident and attended New Castle High School.

For nearly 40 years, Don has been employed by Reed Oil Co., New Castle, where he started as a truck driver and most recently worked as a maintenance superintendent. He was previously employed as a maintenance worker at New Castle Y.D.C. and as the maintenance foreman at the former Polk Mental Hospital, Polk, Pennsylvania. As a young man, he also served as a Neshannock Twp. Vol Fire Fighter and drove school bus for Neshannock Twp. School District.

Don enjoyed meeting friends for breakfast at the Hill House Restaurant in West Pittsburgh and riding his trike motorcycle on summer days. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

His wife, the former Judy Haney, whom he married October 2, 1989, survives at home.

Also surviving are five daughters, Michelle (fiancé, Randy Bobbert) Summerville and Donelle (Steven) Dean, all of New Castle; Tammy (Matt) Winters, Ogden, Utah; Erika Everly, of New Castle; and Dawn Schlager, of Portersville; two sisters, Jan (Dave) Swope, of Portersville and Diane (Bill) Ayers, of New Castle; a brother, Alan (Marsha) Wills, of Butler, Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and his beloved pets, a dog, Gabbie and two cats, Baby and Maui.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Wills and infant Eugene Wills.

Calling hours will be 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2020 in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., Sharon.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2020 in the funeral home, with Rev. John Coomber, officiating.

Interment: Graceland Cemetery, Neshannock Twp.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the L. E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home for Mr. Will Dobyne, 67, of Youngstown, who departed this life on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Dobyne, affectionately known as “Snake”, was born December 27, 1952 in Centerville, Alabama, a son of Clifton and Euell Hurd Dobyne.   

He had been employed with U. S. Steel before it closed in the late 1970’s.  He was a self employed landscaper and enjoyed carpentry work.  He was a member of the Jubilee Gardens group and had won many awards.  He was also featured in the Youngstown Vindicator for having the best grown garden in the 1990’s.  He attended Youngstown St. Patrick Church. 

He leaves to cherish his beloved memory, his wife, the former Blanche Riley, whom he married in 2012; five children, Brian James-Dobyne of Youngstown, Keenan Dobyne, Quentin Dobyn, Arielle (James) Dobyne Lloyd and Ian Dobyne all of Columbus; a sister, Mary Lou (Pierce) Dobyne  Sims and a brother, Freeman Dobyne both of Youngstown and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.  He also leaves behind his beloved furry friends, “Bella, Angel, Short Legs and Big Boy”.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kareen McCain; two brothers, James D. Dobyne Jr. and James T. Dobyne and a sister, Anna Mae Dobyne-McCall.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

HANOVERTON, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Donald Eugene Moffett, Sr., age 82 died at 12:05 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Hospice House in Poland.

He was born February 10, 1938 in Canton, son of the late Ralph Carl and Laverne (Kille) Moffett Sr.

Donald worked at E. W. Bliss Co. for 40 years as machine shop supervisor.

His wife, Patricia L. (Stine) Moffett, whom he married May 27, 1959, preceded him in death June 27, 2004.

Survivors include two sons, Randolph L. Moffett of Salem and James Doyle Moffett of Hanoverton; a daughter, Julie Ann McGuire of Littleton, Colorado; a brother, Tim Moffett of Lisbon, Iowa; 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, a son, Donald E. Moffett Jr.; a brother, Ronald Moffett and a sister, Cheryl Schnorrenberg also preceded him in death.

No services will be held.
